The Shades of Time story...
Shades of Time is a specialist sunglass retailer based in the Southwest of England.
It all began with a group of opticians who lived on South Devon’s glorious coastline, in the popular seaside town of Torquay.
They were aware that Devon was one of the few places in the UK that could actually boast about warm summers. They knew Torquay was a popular holiday destination, with thousands of tourists enjoying the town year after year. They also knew it had a local population who, like anywhere else in the country, enjoyed shopping for products that were both fashionable and of good quality. They could not however find a sunglass outlet that offered a great range of designer eyewear.
Sure, if you wanted to buy sunglasses for £9.99 from a shop that also sold plastic buckets and spades, no problem. The odd T-shirt shop would stock a few of the surfer brands, and the local department stores would wheel out a small collection of specs every summer. The local opticians (themselves included) would allow a corner of their premises to hold some sunglass stock over the summer months, but nowhere could you find an establishment that was dedicated to high quality sunglasses, with trained staff that could advise on the different brands, and the advantages of the individual products. This group of opticians really had no alternative, so in the spring of 2002, Shades of Time was born.

Postage and Packaging
United Kingdom : £4.95 per order. Delivery time is 5 - 10 working days.
USA* : £8.65 per order. Delivery time is usually within 3 weeks.
Rest of the World* : £8.65 per order. Delivery time is usually within 3 weeks.
Channel Islands : £7.25 per order. Delivery time is 5 - 10 working days.
Australia* : £8.65 per order. Delivery time is usually within 3 weeks.
*Outside of the United Kingdom, local taxes and import duty may be payable by you on delivery to your address. It is your responsibility to check what these charges may be.
All goods must be signed for.
NB We reserve the right to refuse orders where the cardholder address does not correspond with the delivery address.
Gifts: If your purchase is a gift, you will have the facility to add a gift message during the check out process. We will also gift wrap a present for free if you request it during checkout.
Returns
We thoroughly check and securely package all goods before dispatch. In the unlikely event of goods found to be damaged on delivery, you should inform us by telephone or email within three days of the goods arrival to arrange for an exchange or refund.
You may return items to us for a refund within 7 days of purchase, providing we are informed beforehand, and the items are returned in an 'as new' state with all original packaging. The goods will be refunded less the postage charge. Any returns after 7 Days the goods will be refunded less a 10% re-stocking fee and our postage costs. In all cases, please contact us before returning goods so we know to expect them.
Sale items are non-returnable.
If you wish to return something, please make sure the item is insured to value on posting. This will protect your investment should the item be lost or stolen.
